Are You Peacekeeping or Compromising?
/Matthew 6:24 says, “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.
Matthew 12:25. A house divided cannot stand,
Galatians 5:19-24 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
Revelation 3:16, So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.
Can you spot the trend?
Here’s a few more to ponder:
Hebrews 12:14, Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.
Romans 12:18, If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.
Matthew 5:9, Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
Proverbs 12:20, Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, but those who plan peace have joy.
Christian, we aren’t called to ‘be ok with’ evil growing all around us. We aren’t called to act like we aren’t part of it either… remembering always, we are sinners saved by grace through faith. We are not to become finger pointers, bad mouthers, or eye rollers, but instead as Jesus did, speak truth in love and live a life worthy of that calling.
Perfect? NO!!! Not even close! But redeemed, yes, by a God who created you, loves you, and sent His Son to die for you. “Worthy” of that does NOT equal perfection. It equals transparent , authentic, real life living daily for Christ, dying to self, owning and confessing when we sin, and speaking in truth as the enemy tries to push evil and darkness over the world.
Child of God; Jesus Christ says, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12). If you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, the Light of the World dwells within you and, in case you’ve forgotten, or never heard, Jesus wins. Light defeats darkness.
Stand firm in peace, love, and truth on the faith you have in Jesus. Live each day in the confidence you have in Him and don’t compromise with evil.
In Him,
Jules
