Our Faith Revealed
/We don’t need God in the shallow water. We can handle that on our own. It’s when the waves are crashing down around us… when we’re weak, exhausted, or at the end of ourselves that the redeeming, transforming, saving grace of the Lord can be seen.
He doesn’t punish us but He does allow us into the deep. It’s there we see growth in our faith, hope, and dependence on God for our sake, for His glory, and so others may see the the power of the living God at work in our lives.
Our faith is not evident in certainty. Our faith is revealed in our uncertainty.
As we wind down this year and move into the next, if you find yourself treading water, struggling to find your footing, repeatedly knocked down, chocking under the waves… remember the One who created the waters and told them where to stop, the One who created the mountains and told them how high they could be, the One who numbered the stars AND created YOU will meet you there. He will stretch you, grow you, deepen your faith, and strengthen your testimony.
As Mary did when the Angel told her she would conceive a child and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, Jesus, submit to the Lord even when you don’t fully understand. Only then will your faith truly be revealed.
I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and blessings for the New Year.
