Cattle, Bees and Trees, Oh My!

Today was a perfectly beautiful day to have the family out working cows! We had young bulls needing castrated and everybody needing their annual trip to the vet. We took half today and will take the other half next week.

If you look closely to the right of the blooms, you can see the our bees hard at work! What used to make me panic has now become a fascinating and exciting display of God’s amazing handiwork!

This tree that was damaged in our recent storms gave us a perfect opportunity for an object devotion with the kids today. Apart from Christ, we wither and die.

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. … I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15

Time now for a few more chores and smoking a whole chicken for dinner! (NOT one of our hens!!!) Have a blessed rest of your day!

When I was a kid dreaming of what I would be one day, I had three main dreams…first was to be a mom, second was to be a writer and third, a teacher. By the grace of God, I’ve somehow become all three! Together with my husband, Scott, we run a small farm, small family business, homeschool our five kiddos, he pastors a church and I work in women’s ministry and still manage to love each other well.
