He Will Not Leave You in Darkness

God will not leave us in darkness if we search the scriptures.

Our culture tells us to find ourselves; find our truth; find what makes us happy. We can absolutely spin our wheels searching for something we won’t find on our own. Sure, we might find a few positive things along the way, but more times than not, we’ll claw at all manner of this world that will leave us wanting.

We look for our worth in our work, family, looks, and talents. We seek for happiness in partying, drinking, attraction, and relationships. We wish on lucky stars, and ask for ‘good vibes’ to be sent our way. But absolutely nothing but what the Lord provides will fill our souls in the way that brings us peace that passes understanding.

We must first seek the Father to begin to understand who we are in Christ Jesus, His Son. Only then can the Holy Spirit do the work of opening the eyes of our hearts to understand scripture.

If you are a child of God, you will not be left in confusion and wondering about the truth of your salvation through faith when you search the scriptures. If you are not, or this sounds like crazy talk, I'd love to answer any questions, help point you toward the scriptures, invite you to church, or encourage you to find a Christian friend who you can talk with about salvation.

God loves you, desires relationship with you, and sent His Son, Jesus Christ to take the penalty of death for the sins of the world so that whosoever would believe in Him would not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16

When I was a kid dreaming of what I would be one day, I had three main dreams…first was to be a mom, second was to be a writer and third, a teacher. By the grace of God, I’ve somehow become all three! Together with my husband, Scott, we run a small farm, small family business, homeschool our five kiddos, he pastors a church and I work in women’s ministry and still manage to love each other well.
